Description
Red and Green Abstract Painting – ‘Lucky No7’ by Sophia Persephone
This vibrant red and green abstract painting was created with oil and cold wax on archival quality paper. The bright red and green colours ‘vibe’ off each other, as they are opposites on the colour wheel. The artist has lifted the overall composition by adding a range of purples.
The artist created this piece by adding and removing layers of paint to build interest. She also used caran d’ache crayons to add an extra dimension.
Sophia Persephone is passionate about the democratisation of art and wants everyone to be able to afford original art for their home. Her preference is to work large-scale on archival grade canvas. However she appreciates that these types of painting aren’t affordable for everyone. So she also creates smaller works and works on paper which can be sold for under £100.
This particular painting draws on the artist’s love of the colours red and green and juxtaposes them in a way which is pleasing to the eye. The ‘Lucky No7’ emerged in the early stages of the composition and the artist decided to preserve it as the main focus.
Size: 48cm x 36cm, sold unframed.
