Description
Red and Green Abstract Painting – ‘Lucky No7’ by Sophia Persephone
This vibrant red and green abstract painting was created with oil and cold wax on archival quality paper. The bright red and green colours ‘vibe’ off each other, as they are opposites on the colour wheel.
I created this piece by adding and removing layers of paint to build interest. I also used caran d’ache crayons to add an extra dimension.
I’m passionate about the democratisation of art and would love everyone to be able to afford original art for their home. My preference is to work large-scale on archival grade linen canvas. However, I appreciates these types of painting aren’t affordable for everyone. So I also create smaller works and works on paper which can be sold for under £100.
This particular painting draws on my love of the colours red and green and juxtaposes them in a way which is pleasing to the eye. The ‘Lucky No7’ emerged in the early stages of the composition and I decided to preserve it as the main focus.
Size: 48cm x 36cm, sold unframed.
