Original portrait painting of Mick Jagger, created in oils on high quality canvas.
I really enjoyed making this portrait of Mick Jagger, I love the colour palette and the energy that comes through.
It was one of those that just ‘fell off the brush’.
This painting of Mick was created sometime around 2019 when I’d not long been painting.
I very much wanted to paint portraits so I started an ‘Icons’ series to develop my skills.
The advantage of painting highly recognisable people is that you must get the likeness spot on….the disadvantage of painting highly recognisable people is that you must get the likeness spot on!
So it was a great exercise in accuracy….I think I caught Mick well in this painting.
